Borraja - Borage
Borraja flowers and leaves are used for fever, cough and depression. It has been used to treat adrenal insufficiency by acting hormonally. It may help to prevent inflammation of the lungs which has made it useful in treating bronchitis and colds. It also acts as an expectorant, which clears excess mucus and relieves congested airways. Borraja has been known to strengthen the immune system and curb allergies. When used as a mouthwash, it can serve to treat mouth and throat infections including mouth ulcers and bleeding gums.
Borraja has a rich history of use, especially in European regions. It was believed to have cooling properties as it can be used to induce sweating and dieresis.
Traditional Tea
1 Cup
Boil 2 cups of water
Add 1 tbsp of dried herb
Let steep for approximately 5 minutes, longer for a stronger tea
Strain and serve
1 Liter
Boil 1 liter of water
Add 10 gr of dried herb (about 1/4 of the bag)
Let steep for approximately 5 to 7 minutes, longer for a stronger tea
Strain and serve
